How to Delete Instagram Highlights

If you have highlighted some story, it shows on your profile. However, you can delete Instagram highlights easily and get rid of them. Are you new to using Instagram stories and are unaware of what highlights are? Let me explain. Usually, Instagram stories stay on your profile for 24 hours. From the moment you post it, anyone on your followers' list can see it for up to 24 hours. Now, what if we want to keep it for more?

In this scenario, highlights enter.
You can highlight any Instagram story anytime.
When a story is highlighted, it is added to your profile information.
Now, anyone coming to view your profile can see those story highlights even if the story was active before days, months, or years.
You can delete Instagram highlights if you want to in just four steps.

How to Delete Highlights On Instagaram

Delete Instagram Highlights: 4 Steps

Step-1 Open Instagram Application: If you are up to deleting highlights, you must be aware of the Instagram application. Open it to get going with the steps.

If your Instagram application is uninstalled by any chance, you can install it for free from the play store or app store.
Do not forget to log in to your account before following the steps.

Step-2 Click on Profile Icon: Now, once you log in to your Instagram account, go to the profile icon as shown in the image below. From there, you can access all your profile information.

Story highlights are added to your profile itself.
So, whenever someone comes across your profile, they can see these highlights along with profile picture and bio.

Step-3 Long Press on Highlights: To delete Instagram highlights, long press on a specific highlight. By doing so, certain options will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Step-4 Choose 'Delete Highlight': From all the options, choose the delete highlight option. By doing so, the entire highlight is deleted.

If you want to delete a specific story from your highlights, you need to follow a few different steps.
Everything is the same, you just need to go to the specific story to delete it instead of removing the entire highlight.

To delete a specific story from the highlight, open the highlight from your profile. You would have added multiple stories to the same highlight. To delete one or a few of them, tap until you reach that story from highlights.

In a specific story, you will see a three-dots option.
It looks like a broken verticle line and is present in the bottom right corner.
There are just two options here. One is of share to, and the other is the three-dots option. So, there won't be any confusion.
By clicking on the three dots, a list of options appears in front of you.
In that list, the first option itself is 'Remove from Highlight.'
It is red in font color. Click on it to delete that specific story from your highlights.

Thus, like this, you can either delete the entire highlight all at once or select a specific story from the highlight to delete. Use these steps as per your requirement and up your Instagram game.
