Use Google Sheets Budget Template: 4 Steps

Step-1 Open Google Sheets Application: To use the google sheets budget template, firstly, you should have the application of google sheets. Look for a green sheet of paper having a little fold on the top-right corner. It even has white outlined cells over it.

  • If you cannot find such an application, you need to download it from the play store.
  • Go to the play store icon that looks like a sleeping triangle having its top on the right side.
  • After opening it, you see a search bar. Type 'Google Sheets' in it.
  • Once you do that, look for the described icon of google sheets.
  • On finding it, click on install and open it after it is done.

Step-2 Click on '+' Icon: On opening the google sheets application, you see a list of your shared and created sheets. If you have never made one, the first page will mostly be empty.

  • Now here, you see a plus icon at the bottom right corner.
  • It is highlighted in a bright blue box at the bottom of the page.
  • Click on that to go further.

Step-3 The Option 'Choose Template': By clicking on the plus icon, two options pop up. One is for creating a blank new spreadsheet and the other one is for using a template. To use a google sheet budget template, select the option of 'Choose Template.'

Step-4 Getting Along the 'Budget Template': By clicking on the choose template option, a list of templates comes in front of you. Moreover, they divide into Personal, Work, Project Management, and Education.

  • There are two types of budget templates available.
  • Firstly, you need to decide the purpose. Consequently, you can choose the type of template.
  • The two types are 'annual budget' in the personal category and 'annual business budget' in the work category.
  • Thus, on knowing your requirement choose the type of budget template.

Lastly, let me take you through the use of the budget template. The annual budget template has four sheets. they are for setup, expenditure, income, and summary. From the setup sheet, you can understand how to get started with the sheet.

  • The expenditure sheet has different expense heads for children, debt, education, home, insurance, and alike. Similarly, the income sheet divides into different categories.
